The Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC) aims to look into the complaints lodged by any student and redress it as required. Students can state their grievance regarding any academic or non-academic matter (including sexual harassment and ragging cases) through the online portal or the grievance/suggestion box.
Mechanism of the GRC:
- After receiving complaints via the e-Grievance online portal, the concerned officer will attend the grievance, segregate, discuss with the committee, and direct it accordingly.
- Complaints of general nature shall be considered by the committee and resolved accordingly.
- The concerned committee shall investigate the cases. If required, a hearing with the complainant may be conducted.
- If the complaint is found invalid, both parties will be informed and penal action may be taken.
- The complaint shall be resolved within a reasonable time.
Procedure for lodging complaint:
A student may lodge grievance by following steps:
- Log in to the website of Vidyasagar University
- Go to Student Zone tab
- Open Student Grievance Portal (or visit http://apps.vidyasagar.ac.in/Grievance/ directly)
- Lodge a new grievance / Send a reminder / View 'My grievances' (or visit http://apps.vidyasagar.ac.in/Grievance/Account/Default.aspx?Continue=New)
- Provide email address
- Create a password
- Confirm password
- Enter CAPTCHA Code
Students may also drop written grievances (anonymous if required) in the suggestion box.
A Brief Report on Functioning of Grievance Redressal Cell
The University has a complete automated system for Grievance Redressal. Any person can lodge grievance through http://apps.vidyasagar.ac.in/Grievance/. The Nodal Officer channelizes and resolves grievances. Till date (15.07.2020), 38 grievances have been received.
