The Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC) aims to look into the complaints lodged by any student and redress it as per requirement. The students can state their grievance regarding any academic and non-academic matter (including sexual harassment and ragging cases) within the campus through the online and grievance/suggestion box.
Mechanism of the GRC:
- After receiving complaints via the e-Grievance online portal, the concerned officer in-charge will attend the grievance promptly and effectively, segregate the complaint, discuss with the concerned committee and thereafter direct the said complaint to the respective committee.
- Complaints of general nature shall be considered by this committee and resolved accordingly.
- The concerned committee shall investigate the cases directed accordingly. If required, a hearing with the complainant or clarification from the concerned may be taken.
- If the complaint/grievance is found invalid, the complainant and the person against whom the complaint is made will be informed accordingly and penal action may be taken.
- The complaint in any case shall be resolved within a reasonable time.
Procedure for lodging complaint:
A student of Vidyasagar University may lodge a grievance by following these steps:
- Log in to the website of Vidyasagar University
- Go to the Student Zone tab
- Open the Student Grievance Portal (or directly visit: http://apps.vidyasagar.ac.in/Grievance/)
- Lodge a new grievance / Send a reminder / View “My grievances” (or directly visit: http://apps.vidyasagar.ac.in/Grievance/Account/Default.aspx?Continue=New)
- Provide email address
- Create a password
- Confirm the password
- Enter the CAPTCHA code
The students may also drop written grievances (anonymous if required) in the grievance/suggestion box.
A Brief Report on the Functioning of the Grievance Redressal Cell
The University has a complete automated system in vogue for Grievance Redressal and it is looked after by the Nodal Officer designated for this purpose. Any person can reach the University system by using the link http://apps.vidyasagar.ac.in/Grievance/ and put up their grievances. Thereafter the Nodal Officer channelizes the grievance and pursues its redressal, to be intimated later to the lodging person. Till date (15.07.2020) the system catered to 38 grievances. The year-wise break up of the grievance received and settled can be given below:
