Campus LAN and Internet Infrastructure
The University has campus wide LAN infrastructures with high speed state-of-the-art redundant switching devices and a fiber-based Gigabit backbone to improve the availability, stability, speed and overall performance of the LAN and internet facilities. Presently, all services are being provided with the new upgraded setup and all departmental users have been given direct connectivity for high-speed internet access. The whole setup is running 24 hours including holidays.
The campus LAN backbone handles multiple types of traffic including data, voice, and video for providing network services such as IP-based CCTV, EPBX System (Video & Voice), e-Enhanced Classrooms, Digital Signage, Smart Biometric Attendance System, Wi-Fi Services, etc.
For security and safety of the campus-wide LAN setup, the network backbone is equipped with high-end Router (MX80-Juniper), redundant Fortigate firewall set, FortiAnalyzer 200D, and other advanced security tools.
To protect the campus from external threats, viruses, spam, etc., Antivirus Servers (Trend Micro, Quick Heal, etc.) have been installed for all client computers throughout the campus in a centralized control system.
The University has a 1 GBPS internet connectivity terminated at the Computer Centre under the NME-ICT & NKN project.
The University is also obtaining another redundant link of 100 MBPS connectivity.
To improve availability, stability, speed and overall performance of the LAN and internet facilities, the University has upgraded (cost approx. 3.25 crores) the complete LAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure with next-generation network and Wi-Fi devices, including renowned products (firewall security devices, switches, Wi-Fi controllers, indoor and outdoor APs, etc., along with complete software licensing). The detailed network infrastructure after upgradation is as follows:
