The Department started its journey since 1985. Initially it focused exclusively on PG teaching and research in Political Science. Later on in the year 2008, the department introduced M.Phil Programme. This apart the department conducts certificate course in Human Rights. Our department is also the nodal department of Gandhian Studies Centre of Vidyasagar University.
