About the Centre

Microbiology Department is also conducting an innovative course on PG Diploma in Quality Control and Assurance in Microbial Technology (QCAMT). The said course is funded by UGC since 2013 with an intake capacity of 10-20 students. Today, various microbial products are marketed by several food and pharmaceutical industries. A well-defined product specification with accompanying quality control procedures help to maximize product performance, ensure product safety, standardize manufacturing costs and reduce the risks of supply failure which is very much essential for customer safety and confidence. Trained personnel have a demand in Food and Pharmaceutical Industries and opening job opportunity. Considering this V.U, Microbiology Department introduces such to build trained personnel in this line. Duration of the course, QCAMT is one year which is accomplished in two semester. Apart from theoretical aspect, practical idea regarding Quality Control has been given to them by the trained personnel of the several Food and Pharmaceutical industries. First batch of this course will pass out in this season. 2nd batch will be start from Aug'2014.


Scope

  • Get an idea about the importance of QC and QA.
  • To gain both theoretical and practical knowledge with good manufacturing practices and process.
  • To acquainted with different pharmaceutical and food industries and their quality sector.
  • Successful training will help the students to obtain job in respective sector.
