Placement Activity :
Under the guidance of Dean of Students’ Welfare, the placement cell consisting of different placement coordinators of respective departments invites various organizations to conduct campus recruitment for the interested students of VU. This cell facilitates all the interested students of VU to get employment through on campus or off campus. A partial list of the organizations who recruited our students are: Wipro, TCS, Pradan, Reliance, HDFC Bank, Limtex Co. Ltd., ICICI Bank, Allahabad Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Kotak Finance, Metro Dairy, American Express, Limitex Infotecch, IMOS Technologis Pvt. Ltd., Infoway IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Tata Consultancy Service (TCS), ISIS Design Service etc., SELVEL, Haldia Petro Chemicals, Future Group, Deson Steel, etc. Around 125 students got selected in different organizations through on or off campus placement activities in this year.
The University Sports Department organized and conducted Inter College Football, Volleyball, Cricket, Kho-Kho, Chess, Kabaddi tournament and Athletics Meet etc. under the chairmanship of DSW. Students’ Union organizes Basanta Utsav (Festival at spring time) in every academic session. It is a very colorful, joyful and musical day. All teaching, non-teaching staff members, students and officers participate in the programme.
Cultural Activity :
The 15th Inter Collegiate Cultural meet was held during September 30 to October 01, 2013 in the University campus organized by DSW Dept., VU. Total numbers of events were 23. 550 students from 25 UG colleges and 14 PG Departments participated in this competition.
The cultural team of our University participated in the 29th East Zone Inter Varsity Youth Festival 2013 organized by L.N. Mithila University, Darbhanga, Bihar during November 23–27, 2013. In this festival our University secured 12 Prizes/positions in the East Zone Inter Varsity Festival 2013.
Vidyasagar University participated in the 29th All India National Youth Festival 2013–2014 in four events organized by Kurukshetra University during February 18–22, 2014.
Vidyasagar University was invited for participating in the SAUFEST (South Asian University Festival) 2013–14 organised by Lovely Professional University, Punjab, during March 11–15, 2014. Mr. Subhankar Das participated in the SAUFEST 2013–14.
Anti-Ragging Information :
The University displayed hoardings at all academic departments, union office, hostels and other prominent places. For information, the name, email address and mobile number of the Nodal Officer to whom complaints of ragging can be made has also been displayed prominently for access of students and intimated to the anti-ragging committee immediately. Complaints received for the session 2013–14 is only two and the grievances have already been settled by us.
